      Hi all,

      As many of the posts I've seen so far, I'm newbie here as well.
      I'm using Raspberry Pi 5 8gb and installed Retropie which works just fine with all emulators I've tested so far, except DOSBOX.
      I've tried some tips from other's Forum topics but it didn't work either. First error was occurring was related to the Timitidy plugin that was installed and seems to be working. But the games still doesn't launch. Please, see below a transcription of the log file.

      Parameters:
      Executing: bash /home/nelsonchelini/RetroPie/roms/pc/+Start\ DOSBox.sh "/home/nelsonchelini/RetroPie/roms/pc/Battle chess/bchess/CHESS. EXE"
      Requested buffer size 32768, fragment size 8192
      ALSA pcm 'default' set buffer size 32768, period size 8192 bytes
      /home/nelsonchelini/RetroPie/roms/pc/+Start DOSBox.sh: line 43:2388 Segmentation fault
      TiMidity starting in ALSA server mode "/opt/retropie/emulators/dosbox/bin/dosbox" "S{params[@]}"
      Opening sequencer port: 128:0 128:1 128:2 128:3

      I hope somebody could shed some light, please.

      Thanks!

        @nelsonchelini

        Did you have add the following line in /boot/firmware/config.txt file ?

        `kernel=kernel8.img`

          @abj Just tried, but can't save it after changed. System doesn't allow me to.
          What should I do to get permission to do so?

            @nelsonchelini sudo nano /boot/firmware/config.txt

            Then add kernel=kernel8.img at the end

              After you did what ExarKunIv say, to save the change to the file, press ctrl+O AND ctrl+X to exit from terminal window.

              If you still have issue, you can plug the sd card to a Window machine and add the line to the file (Boot patition is readable in Windows).

                @abj @ExarKunIv That worked! Thanks a lot for your help, both of you! The only thing I was not able to get was to run the games in full screen mode. They are running in 2 square inch, pretty much.

                There is the "DOS" screen on top of the OS Screen, then the game screen on top of them all, but in cascade mode. Couldn't find the full screen shortcut... Any tips?

                  Try using dosbox-staging instead or choosing a lower resolution for plain dosbox through the runcommand launch menu.
