      Greetings!
I'm having this error on retropie and a number of others. Stay tuned to more posts on each issue lol!

      Splashscreen issue
Despite having the set up the directory required to run video splashscreens, retropie settings don't see the list on there. I have the directory set on both the USB drive which houses all the Roms and also the micro SD Card. RetroPie seems to be picking a list out of another directory that doesn't exist on my USB or SD Drive. Possibly the internet. But I want to use the splashscreen video I downloaded myself.

I have pictures both of the directories on my computer and the error I'm getting. How can I fix this?

@thewillrussell on the "choose splashscreen" page, you need to select "own/extra" instead "retropie splashscreens." Then you can select from among your custom images.

Yours what? You don't have an "own/extra" category, or you don't see your videos there?

@sleve_mcdichael I just don't see my videos there. Do they need to gave a specific filename?

                Just any of these:

                https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/5fa86e87b14e0d265de2920a055200be55e52885/scriptmodules/supplementary/splashscreen.sh#L31

                echo '\.avi\|\.mov\|\.mp4\|\.mkv\|\.3gp\|\.mpg\|\.mp3\|\.wav\|\.m4a\|\.aac\|\.ogg\|\.flac'

I just don't see my videos there.

What do you see? Does it say "no splashscreens installed," or you get something else?

@thewillrussell Hey, I thought I should give you more detail on my splashscreen problem, maybe you might be able to identify my problem?

In this google drive folder, I have two photos of several alternate different video splashscreen folders possible on my usb stick and the video shows a list of picture splashscreens that claim to be in the same directory even though I did not put them there. Probably just a bunch of network ones. Would you be able to take a look? https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XWUUvqtNNISy7JK2TcZfEBcUQiyOfqu9?usp=drive_link

I tried posting a follow up post on the topic but that asshole moderator Mitu took it down

That's very uncool of you to say that. You opened another topic trying to rush your question because you didn't receive an instant reply and he closed that topic because you had one already opened.

You do realize that it isn't anybody's job to help you or anybody else ? This is a diy project and they help folks in their spare time.

TRANSFER roms from USB stick (folder retropie) copies roms, BIOS, configs. Folder splashscreens is not included, you will need to put them on your SD card by transfer over SMB or other method.

RUNNING roms from USB stick (folder retropie-mount) does mount over the whole $home/RetroPie folder which does includes splashscreens, (and roms, BIOS, but not includes configs, they remain on the SD card), but your folder is not called this.

Oh, no. Come back after you've learned to behave in a forum.
