Moving from Pi3 to Pi4?
-
Hi,
I’ve currently got retropie setup on a Pi3 in my Arcade1Up cabinet. I’ve just freed up a Pi4 from elsewhere in the house, and I’d like to get this setup for RetroPie, but want to keep the configuration as is.
I run my ROMS off a USB stick, so no issues there, I’ll just turn on USB mount, and run from there, will also manually install the controlblock drivers (for power and arcade controls). But there are some things I’d like to transfer over if possible:
Scraped descriptions / videos / pictures / marquees etc.
Controlblock configuration
In emulator control configIs this possible? Are there just files / folders that I’d need to carry over?
Thanks,

This should be part of the gamelists and downloaded artwork. You can copy the
\\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation
(or/opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation
) folder over and they should be preserved - this includes also EmulationStation local themes, settings, collections.Controlblock configuration
I'm not sure where that's configured, perhaps the
/etc/controlblock
folder ?In emulator control config
This depends on the emulators, but if you're talking about RetroArch input remaps, they should be in the
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/configs/remaps
folder, which you can copy over. -
@mitu nice one thanks! Much appreciated
