RetroPie-Setup scripts - 64bit?

It looks like https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup has done quite a bit of work over the past few years to add support for 64-bit architectures, but the docs at https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Debian/#install-retropie still say:
Note that this will be the 32-bit version of RetroPie. That means that some emulators such as Daphne (Dragon's Lair) will not work out of the box on this version. That is because Daphne and a few other emulators only have a 64-bit version released for use while this install is for the 32-bit CPU family.
Are the docs wrong or does
RetroPie-Setupreally still not support 64-bit?
