For some reason I am unable to open any of the retropie menu items on my pi4. When I try it gives me this message:

      Module is missing valid rp_module_id
Module is missing valid rp module_desc

Is there an easy fix for this?
Sorry I’m a beginner at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can remove the RetroPie-Setup folder and re-download it with git, but what exactly did you change before this error started to pop-up ? Are you using a stock RetroPie image or is it a modified 3rd party image ?

@mitu I actually tried to download the Supermodel3 emulator and for some reason my retropie menu stopped working. As far as what build I’m using, I’m honestly not sure. But could you provide a step by step process in how I can fix this issue? Like I said I’m completely new to the emulator world

The Supermodel 3 emulator is now part of RetroPie-Setup, you only need to install it from the experimental packages section.

Did you use the image from https://retropie.org.uk/download or not ?

On a stock RetroPie image, you need to run from the command line (after exiting EmulationStation) the following commands:

            cd
            sudo rm -fr RetroPie-Setup
            git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup.git
            emulationstation
