      Hi All.

I am new to Retropie and just installed the latest version on a PI 4B (4GB). I have some old Xbox 360 and one controllers. Which are better, and easier to install please? I am confused with connecting the 360, as I though it would connect with my old Emprex wireless dongle (from the matching remote) but I can't the dongle to work - it flashes briefly when I insert it but then nothing else.
      Thanks in advance.

The firsts XBox-One gamepads are not bluetooth, only the next gen :
        https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/5fr7r1/easy_way_to_tell_if_a_controller_supports/

This next gen is easy to configure in Retropie. Maybe you need to install xboxdrv in Retropie-Setup, Manage packages, Manage drivers packages.

        The first Xbox-One no-bluetooth can't work.

360 pad with wireless adapter should work :

@mem-com in my experience the old Xbox 360 controller, wired, has the same button config as a Xbox one controller, wired.

I find Xbox controllers, wired and wireless, generally easy to install and, as lots of other platforms are using if too, much preferred.

I have PS4 and 8BitDo modkits too, nice but not very compatible.

@Nash thank you for your advice. I've tried to install xboxdrv but I am getting a message asking for a GitHub.com username and password.
I've had a little search and can't find any info on this, but did see a video (

) where he uses sudo nano/etc/modprob.d/Bluetooth config - but I need a keyboard to use this method (which I haven't got!).

@mem-com You need to find a wired USB keyboard or wireless with 2.4ghz dongle (not bluetooth) to do this and many others things later.

2.4ghz keyboards and gamepads are easier to use because no need pairing like bluetooth. Plug the 2.4ghz usb dongle and it is "paired" immediately. However all gamepads, wired, 2.4ghz and bluetooth, need to be configured in EmulationStation menu "Configure Input".

2.4ghz are also more powerful than bluetooth especially on Pis, less input lag and no interferences.

If you plan to use keyboard or gamepad with other devices, 2.4ghz dongle is much more pratical than bluetooth which requires pairing each time.

@mem-com I had the github password problem with other scripts but not with xboxdrv. I don't know how to bypass this.
