No gamepad detected - total newbie

Hello I have swapped out the original board in an arcade 1up for a raspberry pi. I am able to get to the configuration menu but it does not detect my wired controller nor my wired keyboard in any of the USB ports

Would love to get this running but have hit a dead end despite reading forums and watching videos. Nothing has worked. I’m a total pi newbie!!

What controller and keyboard are you using?

@AWiiEnthusiast I am not sure what the controller is. There are no makers marks. It looks like a knockoff Xbox controller. It’s a 5V-500mA wired controller I would sometimes use with my pc. The keyboard is a Logitech G915 X LIGHTSPEED.

I had also tried connecting the controller to a powered usb hub but that didn’t help it detect either. I just noticed during the start up process when the system is doing all its checks, I get a small red line with a white x that says “ A start job is running for dhcpcd on all interfaces (33s / 1min

Are the keyboard/controller not detected even if they are directly connected to the Pi's USB ports ? Are you using a proper power supply for the Pi ? Does it work if you connect just the keyboard directly to the Pi ?
