pi zero 1ghz

Thanks for your help. Will try and report back, soon!

I just bumped the core clocks, but no difference at all:
arm_freq=1000
core_freq=500
gpu_freq=500
sdram_freq=500Then I saw this here and wanted to OC the superFX:
But I cannot seem to find the setting. It starts via lr-pocketSNES. but the core that is loaded is SNES9x as seen here:

Why is that and how do I OC superFX alone?
Best wishes!

pocketsnes was renamed to snes9x 2002 - it's the same.
-
BTW the rpi0 is
arm_freq=1000
by default - so that's not a cpu overclock. I don't know if you can clock the zero cpu higher reliably - but perhaps not.Please read through the new detailed overclocking info from @suprjami here - https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Overclocking

Hi BuZz:
I bumped core and ram to 500 MHz, but it did not make a difference. So I want to test the SuperFX OC Setting seen in the video above. But there is not snes9x next anywhere in retropie 4. has it been removed?
-
There is no need to ask the same question in two threads.
-
ok. sorry. will the 500 MHz core/gpu be fine @ 55 degrees celsius? or should I go back to default?

Using a pi zero here and Yoshi's Island has too much lag for me to be enjoyable. Let me know if you find some settings to help it along but the CPU is maxed while playing it.

Great, thank you.
I tried that but unfortunately Yoshi's Island still lags too much. I guess the Pi0 just isn't up to the task for that one.EDIT: I forgot that in my efforts I had looked at this page: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Speed-Issues
And I set this which did indeed give me the lag I was seeing.
#Potentially improve input lag
video_frame_delay = 5What the wiki doesn't say that the retroarch.cfg did was that "Can reduce latency at cost of higher risk of stuttering." I believe I was seeing stuttering. Taking that line out and everything is working a lot smoother. Not perfect, especially with a lot of badies on the screen, but it is playable. Thanks!

@suprjami interesting read. thank you-
bottom line: the pi zero is just not fast enough (even when overclocked) to play the superFX games in an enjoyable way. -

Cool, good info, thanks for sharing. I'll edit the description on the Speed Issues page.@naddel81 yes, i said that at the top of this thread
