Ok, so, I have a raspberry pi 2. All of my Atari games are working, all of my Nintendo games are working, all of my Sega Master System games are working. However, none of my Sega Genesis games are working. They all load and go to the Start screen like they should, but the controllers have no functionality once I get to the Start menu. I am using an SNES Retro USB Super Nintendo controller for ALL of my games.

If you're using a non libreto emulator, they have different methods of configuring controls, so if you're using the DGen emulator, you have to configure things manually. If not, the genesis has a 3 button and 6 button controller setting that could be causing you grief.

@wetriner I am super new at this. I don't know what emulator I'm using. Am I going to need to buy a different controller just for the Genesis games?

Well since you don't know, you're probably on the default lr-picodrive. The runcommand menu that pops up before the game will show the emulator name. No need to buy another controller, but it could require additional configuration.

Follow the instructions here and see if it helps at all.

@wetriner I only have a 4 button controller. I tried to reconfigure it once I clicked on the Sega mega drive, but it still didn't work.

@Vakdog Have you tried mapping the inputs in the in-game retroarch GUI? You should be able to access it with a keyboard F1 or select+x on the controller.

@wetriner I'm really sorry, but can you give me step by step instructions on that? I don't want to F anything up after I've came this far...
