Changing default emulator for a number of games
-
Ok so I am using the 'arcade' folder for all arcade games and for the most part I will be using mame2003 as my emulator so have set that as the default emulator for the Arcade folder, however I have put a decent number of NeoGeo games in there (over 100) and they all came from a FBA 0.2.97.39 romset.
I know i can go into each one individually and set them to use FBAlpha as the emu but that will take a long time on the pi,
Where does Retropie/ES store the setting for which emulator a specific rom will use and is this something i can edit on PC (like changing a gameslist of config file?)If it makes a difference i have them separated into folders inside the arcade folder so it shows
ARCADE
---Arcade classics
---NeoGeo
---Shooters
---FightersIs it possible to tell it to use a specific emulator for the neogeo sub folder?
Note:- I know i can use the seperate Neogeo root folder but this then adds a separate neogeo entry on the home screen bar and i want all the arcade games in one place
Thanks in advance

It's possible with some scripting to set it for multiple roms but is not that simple due to the key names being a checksum it's stored in
/opt/retropie/configs/all/emulators.cfg
. No emulator per subfolder support either I'm afraid. -
Righto, found that file, any easy way for me to get the checksums from somewhere,
if not looks like this will be easier to just do it manually, luckily i have just realized i don't have to let each rom load,
just select the rom, change setting in loading menu then select quit without running, that at least should save some time.AndrewPK
