kodi running at 100% Cpu on standard PI2. Build Problem or something else?
-
Hi
I am having several problems with my kodi build the first being in the title, kodi is running mostly at 100% cpu with the occasional drop to 80% cause my temps to rise to about 65 degrees Celsius . Is this normal for idling?Second my ip address doesn't look right, is say its 10.56.10.6 which I think this located in the states but I am expecting London. This is causing bbc iplayer not to work correctly.
I have updated the retro pie script as well as removing kodi and installing it again but that hasn't made a difference. Is there a way I can change the script to alter what version of kodi its going to install?
My Setup:
Pi 2 stock
Retropie (updated script today)
Kodi build 16.1 Git;2016-04.24-b08ce71-dirty.
CPU usage 80 -100%
max ram used 200mbIf there any details I have missed please let me know.
Thank you.

Anyone?

Without being 100% positive, Kodi GUI is all in 3D.
Maybe Pi2 is not enough to handle it after possible side effects in the Retropie EXPERIMENTAL setup
Try running it alone from an OpenElec image.

When you uninstall, you also need to remove the /home/pi/.kodi directory before reinstalling Kodi. You might post some logs, like /dev/shm/runcommand.log and the kodi crash logs (if you have any?).
The /dev/shm/runcommand.log is over written every time you launch something so make sure you have launched and just closed Kodi before retrieving that log file.
Also another question, which controller(s) are you using?

@Pyjamarama Will try open elec on a seperate sd card and see what thats running like.
@backstander Will get the logs tonight. Im not using a controller whilst using Kodi. I do own a wired xbox 360 controller but found that if thats plugged in that its automatically forces scrolling to the left which was a nuisance. I have a wifi keyboard that I used to navigate through kodi.

To get your Xbox 360 controller to work in Kodi, check out this thread:

@backstander Thanks. I will try that out once I've resolved the these two issues.

Hi,
Couldn't pin point the problem with this, so I've done a new build. The kodi on this build is running at 10% idle.
The only thing I can think off, is ive written a script which is cause kodi to sap up the cpu. Will just have to test as I go along to find what was causing it.
