All emulators except lr-gambatte seems to have the correct resolution and aspect ratio. Is there a way to change it just for that particular emulator? I'm using overscan and can't change those settings, so I hope there's are some other settings I can tweak. I've tried to press 'a' before launching a rom and tweaking the settings I could find, but nothing seems to affect the resolution/black bars.

@NeoID You can easily change the overscan settings in the config.text located in Boot/

Follow this link to rpiconfig here

Also check out the wiki here

You need to be root if you are going to make change's to the config.txt if you connect using SSH. To do this follow the link Here

I'd say you're using underscan if you've got black bars. Are you on an classic CRT (tube) television or on a modern monitor or LCD TV?

I should have included a little bit more info... :)
I'm using a 2.8" Pi TFT screen. I'm using overscan in order to move the picture into position as I'm only using about 2" of the 2.8" screen. Since all other emulators look fine, I don't want to change my boot/config.txt if not necessary. Is there no way to override that just for that particular emulator?

Have you tried adjusting the video mode and resolution options found in the runcommand menu?
