      Hi everyone,

I just wanted to install Retropie 4.1 on a Raspberry Pi 2, downloaded the correct .gz file and extracted retropie-4.1-rpi2_rpi3.img.

Then, I flashed the image to a SD card with Win32DiskImager and popped it in the Raspberry.

First thing I noticed : there is only 1 raspberry icon when booting.
Then, after boot, emulationstation won't launch, and stays at command prompt.
When I type "emulationstation" : "Illegal instruction" briefly appears, and the command line prompt gets back.

Am i doing something wrong ? To me it seems that the image marked as compatible with rpi2 and 3 is not correct... Could you help me ?

      Thank you

      Regards

@DonMerguez Sounds like a corrupt / bad / incompatible card.

            Hi,

This SD card has been working in this Raspi2 for at least 2 years, but I'll download the image a second time and check it with md5 to be sure...

If you get one raspberry then you don't have a raspberry pi 2 or 3. You have a 1 or zero

                Hi BuZz,

Thank you very much for your remark, I was inserting the SD in the wrong raspberry :(

It's indeed a 1B ! So we can close this topic.

                Best regards,
