Update
Here is both Screenshots and Box-art for many games.
Screenshots 7719 of 7846 135 mb
Box-Art 4150 of 7846 1.39 GB
You can easily create a gamelist.xml file for these using @Rookervik 's Gamelist XML Creator
This can be found here

One question please: How does this differ from the vanilla Gamebase set (what does it mean to run it through Hyperspin)? Thanks!
-
@vbs Nothing really. It just changes the file names to something more readable.
More up the alley with No-intro naming standard.

Hm, some weeks ago I also created a DAT from Gamebase64 v15. As far as I know it contains about 25000 games. Your DAT contains "only" about 8000 games. The 25000 games set contains a whole bunch of crap anyway, so no problem (I filtered it a bit to drop all unpublished titles). But I wonder why it is that different?
If anyone is interested I can post my DAT and also a python script to generate a gamelist.xml with all the information from the Gamebase VERSION.NFO file with links to the screenshot.
BTW The VICE script in RetroPie is able to also handle ZIP files (they will be extracted and handed over to VICE), so it is possible to use the original Gamebase64 ZIPs (while the filenames are really awful, but its ok when using a gamelist.xml).
EDIT:
Oh I lied sorry, I didn't write a Python script to generate the gamelist.xml (I did for Amiga Gamebase actually), but I used this: https://blog.spreendigital.de/2016/01/04/convert-your-gamebase64-c64-rom-files-to-emulationstation-retropie-recalbox-format/
(I just patched it to display release date propertly) -
@vbs Hyperlist has always been about taking out the crap basically. I also use it on No-Intro sets to get One game One region and then making some personal changes.
But you are right this is definitely not a complete Gamebase set but uses Gamebase as a source and then cleans it to samething more manageable. But then again this is a personal preference.
But i would love to see your dat file posted with everything your where describing.
The more choices people have the better 😉

I would like a stripped down GB64 since I think it's just too much stuff in there. So I will take a look at the Hyperspin list, thanks! I just noticed though that according to this list https://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/ Hyperspin seems GB64 v14 based, or is there anywhere a newer list also?
So these are the DATs I created from the untouched GB64 v15.
It contains:
gb64.dat gb64pub_only.dat gb64unpub_only.dat
gb64.dat
contains all games. Thegb64pub_only.dat
is filtered and contains only games that were actually published, the rest went togb64unpub_only.dat
.Then there is this shell script that creates a gamelist.xml for C64.
It extracts the information from the VERSION.NFO to fill the gamelist.xml. I got it from here but tweaked it to show publisher and release_date correctly.

@vbs Yes thats right v14 is the latest on the hyperlist. But if you register there is a v15 dat file in the upload section.

@Rion Thank you very much for share with us.

How do you transform XML Hyperlist to DAT files ?
I'd like to use clrmamepro in order to clean my Atari800 ROMS: do I have to use a DAT file, or may I also use the XML from Hyperlist ?
Thanks for any help.

@vbs Thank you for the dats and explanations, can you share your tweaked script?
The release date mixed with the publisher bothers me a bit.Thank you in advance

It is a while ago and I am a bit confused with my stuff but I think this should be the script:

@vbs that was quick lol. Yes that's it.
Thanks -
Could I get some assistance?
I open up clrmamepro and add the .dat file, when I select it and click the 'load/update' button, I click 'default' and get a warning message:
"Rom:
CHROMEBR_01467_01\CHROMEBR.T64
wasn't imported "
I can click ok, and it pops back up with the next rom. I can press ok on all of them and it will eventually finish. When I try to run the rebuilder, nothing changes, the names are all the same.
Anybody know what is going wrong here? -
@mtkiddy Yeah I'm seeing the same thing here, not sure what to try. I'm not familiar with this app at all.
-
i dont know why you guys dont just use the nointo 1g1r dat from the website. Is there any reason not to do it this way?

Lots of stuff missing for me in that collection.
