@cj2tech this is a manual that was done quite well:

      https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/51auko/i_made_a_manual/?client=ms-android-motorola

If you read the documentation it will answer 99% of your questions: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/

Also if you want a solution to your problems read this first: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

@herb_fargus That is a well made manual thanks for the post. It looks very nice. I feel like you manual is good but mine is a little more detailed. and i will soon make a professional version like yours once i completely done. Im thinking of making it look more like Sega Dreamcast User Manual.

@cj2tech I can't take credit for it by any means, just something I came across.

As far as a general use page goes, the first installation page just about covers it, though i will be making a RetroPie for my father in law and will also be including a guide for him so perhaps I can add some thoughts when I do it.

As far as adding a general guide to the wiki it should be general enough that it applies to everyone. Granted there are hardware variations with controllers/versions of pi but the software should be the same. Everyone has their own tweaks, but this should just be bare bones general use.

@herb_fargus that's what I'm currently working on. I did a big update on it last night which add a cool new title page and universalizes some of the instructions and processes.

Plus it's nice for people without internet. Or just don't know how to navigate the wiki
To have crucial information on hand.

Let me know what you guys think about it. The last thing I'll add will be a index Page. So don't fear if you don't see one. I plan on adding more tonight.

I think im done with this for now. I have added all the information you would ever need to use the retro pi OS. If anyone can think on what to add to this be sure to put a message here. I will also not be adding this to the wiki since most of the information is found there and is not my place to add things like these. How ever if any admin or any Retro Pie team member wants to include to the wiki or use it in any shape or form they have my permission. I will be adding open editing soon so people can add more when I'm am not around.

I corrected some typos in the topic btw - I had a look at the guide. It's nice, but there are a few errors - RetroPi / RetroPie. UBS / USB. Formating / Formatting, trouble shooting / troubleshooting. I made a few suggestions in the document.

Also - not sure what the text in the compatibility box means at the beginning.

This is a great start. I was going to make a manual for my nephew and this will definitely cut down the time.

Certainly. I was going to make more visual additions to it. Not sure Kids would want to read as much so my plan is to include screenshots on how to shutdown, navigate, etc.
