i am currently running Rpi3 retropie v 4.1.10 im using Ir-fbalpha says it uses (0.2.97.39) these are the roms and bios i am using however anytime i try to load up a game it just goes back to game list im at a loss here been trying to get this to work for like 2 days!
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR are you using the correct emulator for your ROM set?
-
i have am using romset (0.2.97.39) and Ir-fbalpha when i installed it it said version (0.2.97.39)
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR It seems you are. You must have done something wrong. You didn't post a lot of of info..
-
what other info could i provide for you i would be more than happy to provide more
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR In my experience I would use a 0.78 set and lr-mame2003. It supports less games but they are stand-alone and 90% of the ones I want. I also recommend using the "arcade" folder in ES.
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR Is it just neo geo games you want?
-
yes mostly the metal slug games and the megaman games and marvel vs games
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR Then... I'm sorry I can't really point you in the right direction. I was banned from this forum for 4 days for helping someone asking similar questions. Google is your friend.
-
i have them already i cant get the emulator to work
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR it works. Do none of the ROMs work in your set? Are you using a full set?
-
none work no im not using full set just picked some from a list
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR which set?
-
FB Alpha (0.2.97.39)
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR sorry, I know...MAME does not work in that way!
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR You need All of the set for it to work. Get a 0.78 set. It is a non -merged set.
-
so its not like nes or snes where you can just a pick a few games i have to get every game available to get it to work?
-
@DrUnKeN_TiGeR nope. Not unless you use the 0.78 ROMset which is a non-merged set. A non -merged set contains stand-alone ROMs. The others, ie a split or merged set rely on code from other ROMs. Sometimes they are totally unrelated games but from the same manufacturer of hardware or game developer... it's complicated...
-
OHHHHH ok so what emu do i need to run that on? AND what is it 0.2.97.78?
-
Also, make sure you've the proper BIOS file. When I was trying to get NeovGeo games to run (using the Neo Geo emulator) it was a lot of Googling until I came across the proper BIOS file what would work. That and making sure I had it in both the BIOS folder and in the same folder my Neo Geo roms were in. Maybe your issue is something similar?
