@fieldofcows can't wait, especially if it means I can increase the size of images again, as the quality was lost getting them down

@Nismo on your sega32x theme background, what image pack did you use for your 3d box size? After I updated my gamelist file for that system I show a smaller 3d box with your larger 3d box in the background.

Of course no problem with that, but not all my images are on psd, some are pfi, i'll upload for you when I open the thread for the theme.

You still can download the theme again... what's the problem?

I'll open a thread for my theme in the right place of this forum, but unfortunatelly, i can't find time to do it. But when i can, i'll post links for all the art for the theme, so you don't need to worry about that, i'll post wheels, images, boxart, videos and all you need in the theme. Sorry for the delay but my live isn't a bed of roses lately...

              Regards.

@Nismo Would you be able to share or post your UXS scraping profile? I'm trying to integrate your OldRoom MAME theme into my custom tronkyfran theme, but having some trouble doing so. My gamelist has <video></video> tags, but your stock OldRoom theme doesn't seem to be able to find or play them. The stock tronkyfran theme, however, can play videos (even though it's not designed for it), but the formatting of the theme becomes all messed up- just a white screen for a background and the text size and color is not as it should be.

@MWGemini It's very strange starting with the point that a theme not designed to play videos you see video previews.

Second point it's more strange because nobody having problems with my theme except you, so it's very difficult to me to say what's the problem.

Only thing could be it's maybe your using and old theme version.

Try this one, it's the latest i uploaded: http://www.mediafire.com/file/vs3tr3sstrxud42/oldroom_1.8_720p.zip

Please give more details it's hard to me to understand what's the problem, it should work.

And no, I don't use UXS.

                    Regards.

@Nismo already got it ready to load :) @MWGemini, happy to test @fieldofcows recent build, however I'm an absolute novice, how would I go about downloading and installing the recent build on a Pi?

@Nismo I trying to mod your theme with another first-entry-look you know, systems and retropie. I want to keep your cool stuff inside systems though. How do I do that?

                        Thanks!

Well I want to merge a another thems first part into your theme. So to speak, change front system and retropie menys in yours. Is it possible to cut and paste code from my theme into your xml? And if, where and what row do I do that? 😊

@Kischa It's not so easy like copy and paste, and very difficult to explain if you don't know how to make themes.

What you can do it's to change the background and logos in system view, that's easy, inside of each system folder there is an art folder.

You can change the system_art.jpg for wherever you like for the backgound in system view, and you can change system.svg if you want to change the logos.

@Kischa just to add to @Nismo comment, I changed system view images to other backgrounds and created a few extra views for systems that weren't included in his 1.8 release, there is a really good guide on creating/changing themes on github : https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Creating-Your-Own-EmulationStation-Theme here I discovered the ES Theme Helper which is incredibly helpful

                                  @Nismo @Scannigan Ok I see. Many thanks guys! 😊

@Nismo Btw, whats the diffrent between yours and the theme "zoid" front images?
And also, I downloaded the latest oldroom 1.8 but I could not find a 1080p version...not finished or better off with less resolution for memory and temp?

Thanks for your great work Nismo!

@Kischa I have a 1080p version but 720p version it's better optimized for Rpi, but I can upload the 1080p version later if you want.

The difference for system view background images with zoid theme, it's the quality and filesize are optimized for rpi to not overload memory.

If you take a look at the original zoid theme, system art backgrounds are more than 550kb to 1mb for each image, while mines doesn't go past 225kb (around 140-160kb for 720p) and still vey high quality.

Of course I was speaking with litzoZoid and he give me permission to use his fanstastic system view backgrounds on my theme. Thanks to him again.

@Nismo Aha, I see! Ive got a Rp3. Do you think I will loose some noticeable perfomance if I stick with your 1080p version?

@Kischa I'll try to upload a new theme version this night or maybe tomorrow, I only added Sega game gear, but I want to add support for retropie menu.

So i'll upload both 1080p and 720p versions and you can test how it's the performance on both, and choose what's better for you.

@Kischa even the 720p caused some stability issues for me on my Pi 3, including flickering video previews, art work and marquees being just white boxes, ES in game menu not displaying correctly and eventually a total white out, I was running 16 systems in total, however reducing the image size totally removed that issue
