How to edit deadzone on xbox controllers ?

I've got problems with reicast and DraStic, both of those emulators seems to ignore the deadzones set by default (or they are not enough for my controller).
But nonethless, I'd like to know if someones know an easy way to set deadzones using xpad drivers, or managed to compile this alternative xpad driver with dead zones support https://github.com/brianguertin/xpad , or if the xboxdriver is now safe to use again so I can tweak their deadzone settings?
Specs : Raspberry Pi3
RetroPie Version : 4.1.13
emulators : reicast, DraStic
