Problems with joysticks and diagonals....

Hi all;

i have bought two joysticks that are connected to a usb board and after mapping the bottons and joystick the diagonals don't work , concretely the NE diagonal doesn't work correctly and i don't know why...

Some people told me that i could be a drivers problems or some stuff like that .

Any suggestions???

Are you sure they are 8 way? They could be 4 way sticks.

well, the joysticks have 4 conections and all work fine . Up, down;left and right work perfectly.

Or what do you mean with the 8 ways??

There are 4 way and 8 way joysticks.
Maybe list the brand and model number or even a link to the joystick you have.

its only in one diagonal. So its for sure a joystick with 8 ways.

@alexpagp Is you joystick one of the old Happ Controls compitition joystick with the open bottom and 4 cherry switches? If it is you may have something loose that isn't hitting both switches at the same time. We liked the old Happ joysticks because you could put a spacer between the switch and the actuator so you wouldn't need much of a movement to hit the switches.

@alexpagp I missed you saying you have 2 joysticks. Are they both giving you the same trouble? I have never used one of these but a little googling tells me there is a restrictor plate on the bottom that can change it to 2 way, 4 way or 8 way action. Could that be causing some of the trouble? Are they both doing the same thing? One thing you could try is to move the connections swapping north-south and east-west and see if the problem moves.
