Thanks for this. Unfortunately it doesn't give much of a clue.

This info would be helpful:

What were you doing when it crashed? Changing selection in gamelist? Launching a game?
What video was it trying to render? What format? Dimensions?

And anything else you can think of :)

It never crashed when lanching a game, is when i'm broswing the gamelist.

segmentation fault, going thru the gamelist, went 1 by one, then was comparing the differences in the play between these 2 and it gave a segmentation fault.

Tried after that to change between the two again, no problems.

segmentation fault going from game to game when i watch a few seconds.

this just happened when going thru gamelist, when changed from games that were in the gamelist.xml and ones that were not.

i'm not finding a pattern, but give me ways to give more info and i will

Tried to implement this into my theme (Futura) and every time I add any video code it breaks the theme and it shows the system the way it would when the theme.xml is missing, white background with default layout. The video does show though and play just fine just the theme gets shot.
I have the latest ES on my RPi 3 (v2.1.4RP), video and marquee tags are inside the gamelist files.
Is there anything besides the theme.xml files that I have to amend to make this work? Do I have to add something inside the main xml file (futura.xml)?

Ah I see, you guys wanted my edited theme files? Ha, silly me, sorry about that.
I didn't upload them on github. Github shows only a 100% working theme not experimental stuff.
If nismo doesn't beat me to it I'll upload my modified files to mega after I get back from work. (8:26am here)

@FlyingTomahawk I got it working right now, the problem is where to place marquees because they are on top of system logo.

@FlyingTomahawk Ok it's done, I placed the marquees out of the screen, then you can place it wherever you want.

I'm uploading the new theme and i'll post the changes in a few minutes.

The video is showing there where the md_image usually would be?

The marquee should be on top of the video bottom-right. Similar to this image here.

@FlyingTomahawk Yes, it's working, I placed marquees out of screen to let you place it wherever you like. And yes, the video is the same size than md_image, but for my liking I prefer more width and less high.

For every system you need to edit theme.xml and replace:

<view name="system, basic, detailed">

with:

<view name="system, basic, detailed, video">

And also replace in theme.xml:

<view name="detailed">

with:

<view name="detailed, video">

For Futura.xml changes I recommend to you to compare your old file with the new one, just because a lot of changes...

I had a quick look at your changes and now I see what went wrong on my attempt. I did not add the video view inside the main xml file (futura.xml)
I think I can improve the code a bit more and evtl. update the theme with this new feature.
I am at the vet right now but will test it asap.
