Nicely done on the setup as a whole.

@Kischa here's your link :)

I'm trying to become more active in the community as Retropie has become a huge passion of mine, thanks largely in part to all of you folks and this community. I'm still learning the in's and outs, but I wanted to share my Retropie Splash Videos too, as I've made a few. Some of them I'm proud of, and others might not be quite as good. But I'd love for you all to use them if you like them!

@Thak Great thanks! :)

So here is a question for you all:
I have made a video splash intro and it runs properly in the "test video splash" options menu, but when actually booting up my pi3, the audio cuts in and out and the screen flashes. Any ideas what might be going on? The file is already a .mp4.
-
@HallelujahJaffar wow. Thank you very much for sharing - these are all fantastic! I might certainly use one of these as my splash screen :)
-
@ward614 I actually had this same issue when I first loaded up my first Splash Video to my Retropie. This link is what fixed it for me. Scroll down just a little and follow what Buzz posted as a fix.

@Kischa Thank you! I plan to keep making them as it is a ton of fun

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to make a splashscreen with a video game montage.
There are 63 consoles I am trying to fit in this one, each with 3 seconds, which would end up at 189 seconds, which is roughly 2 minutes.
Is that too long for a splashscreen? -
@itsnitro ...maybe :P The ones I use are on the longer side, 35s, and it's because I have quite a bit of metadata to load, I find. I wouldn't expect it to need to take a lot more. How long does your ES load time take?
Could you frame 4 consoles at a time, or maybe same family ones in the same frame, to reduce the time?
-
What I did was reduce the frame limit to 1 second for each console. Might find a way to put 4 consoles at a time on the screen.
Also, the load time is pretty short for me. 4 seconds?
I use a raspberry Pi 3. -
Alright. Here is my splash screen. Do note that this is not the final version.
I actually made the music. I'm a music producer as well. :D
Lemme know what you think! -
@itsnitro not bad. I like that the transitions match the beat of the music, impressive you did the music yourself. I personally wouldn't want it that long for every time I boot but I typically just leave my pi on all the time so it's kinda a moot point for me.
-
I'm pretty new to RetroPie. Do these videos take the place of the wall of text that I see every time I start up? I love the Quasar theme that plays the old PSX sound.
-
@itsnitro Asides from it being 1m10s long, I actually love it! Might trim it down and used it for my set up :)
The music is quite catchy!

Thanks everyone!

Is there no way to skip a playing Splash Screen Video?
