getting SORR to work

Power Supply used: (5 v 2.52amp)
RetroPie Version Used (4.2.1 from 4.2):
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website)

has anyone got SORR to work?

i have follow Foobs vid on how to get it going and i get this error in my runcommand log

no idea on what DCB compatible means

Is this the video you are referring to from Floob?

I have played it but it was a long while back and it isn't on my current build. When I did install it I installed it from zerojay's RetroPie-Extra repo:

yea i did that too, nothing happened.

no files where DLed, no folders made, nothing, just the .sh file.
so i got everthing by hand. and thats when i get the error from above.

i didnt know if i did something wrong, or something changed at the core and the setup stript just will not work

After you run that install-extras.sh file it just downloads the individual scripts for the RetroPie-Setup script in the Experimental Section. You then would need to run the RetroPie-Setup script and navigate to Manage packages then Manage experiment packages and sorr should be on the list to install now.

yes did all that.

some of the new scripts work fine, but some come up with errors, and some like SORR seem like they work but they dont

nope.

it runs showing all the lines of code, just like everything else.
when it finishes it goes back to the blue install menu that we all know.

when i go to look for the folder that it says that it makes it is missing, the only thing there is the launching .sh for the game. thats why i say it kinda works

I looked at the install script and it looks like it is installing the BennuGD game engine. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think that is correct. I also have no idea what address it should be installing from.

UPDATE: Nevermind!!! This is correct...SORR is developed on BennuGD...false alarm lol!

and as far as i can tell it does , but like i said the folder that it says it makes, where the BennuGD files goes. never gets made.

I wonder if the script doesn't have permission to make a folder where it is trying to make a folder. Have you tried manually running the sorr.sh script with sudo?

nope. did not think of that, or i tried and could not figure out how to run it.

just 'sudo sorr.sh' ?

im guessing i need to be in RetroPie-Extra to run it

Actually you'll need to make the sorr.sh script executable, something like this:

chmod +x ~/RetroPie-Extra/scriptmodules/ports/sorr.sh

Yeah I think you can run something like:

sudo ~/RetroPie-Extra/scriptmodules/ports/sorr.sh

I'm user an x86 Ubuntu virtual machine and I tried running that script manually and nothing happened for me. It didn't give me an error message either. Does another script call this one?

so its not just me. thats good and bad.

You need to manually download the SorRv5 game, and transfer the SorR.dat to opt/retropie/ports/sorr/. I'm also sure you need to transfer over the pallettes/mods folders to that location as well too.

i do have the game, but i did not know about having the SORR.dat in the opt/retropie/ports/sorr/. i thought it needed to be in /roms/ports.

i will give that a shot tomrrow.

it worked. the game starts.

it does freeze at the leaf like i have see a few people say, but it starts. :)

never mind i got it to work on. just needed to pick the correct setting when it started

you need to select the video mode normal (full screen)

but i think you will now have to delete all the files due to the setting already being set and it will freeze before you can get into the menu to change it. i could be wrong about that, but the setting is right
