      Hi Everyone:

I am having issues getting the .bin file issues into my Sega CD folder on the web interface. I am using a Pi 3 model B and is updated with 4.2. I do have all of the correct BIOS files from what I have found from the message boards. I am able to drop the .cue file in however it just bounces back when I drop in the .bin...i have tried loading them directly on the pi desktop as well via USB stick...still am not getting anything. really not sure what I am missing...

@Toan first of all you need to load the cue not the bin. Second you need to open the cue file and make sure the cue file is pointing to the bin file with the correct name of the bin file. Caps and lowercase is important, even on the .bin part of the name. Also as an example your name is say Sonic CD.BIN you need to make sure the cue file doesnt say something like "c:\\Sonic CD.BIN inside it. You only want the bin file name.

I am loading the .cue file and made sure the script in the .cue is the same name as the .bin. The issue is that it seems that I cannot drop in the .bin file into the web interface. When I load the cue file I just get a black screen.

@Toan since i dont know what emulator you are trying to use, do you have the correct bios' for the emulator you are using placed in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/ ? They are different for both emulators. And remembers caps are important. You need all of them posted here.

@edmaul69 I have both lr-genesis-plus-gx and lr-picodrive, all with the US, Japan, and Euro BIOS. I am running lr-gnesis-plus-gx though. If I run pico drive it gives me the Sega CD load screen but gets stuck at the loadable ram screen...still I am unable to drop the .bin files into the Sega CD Rom folder.

@Toan if you are putting the files on your sd card, can you try giving 0777 permissions to your bin files?

Have you tried using SSH/SFTP or SMB?

@edmaul69 I am using the RetroPie Manager via my browser. When I drag both the .cue and .bin over in the browser only the .cue file drops in and the .bin will not populate

@mediamogul I have only used the browser for RetroPie Manager, I have not networked my mac and Pi together.

@Toan you really need to ftp or use a thumb drive to transfer the files

@edmaul69 I did try the thumb drive as well for sonic CD and was able to both drop in the .cue and .bin file into the Sega CD Roms folder but I still get the black screen when I try loading the file when using lr-genesis-plus-gx.

@Toan when you put the bios on did you have all the caps and lowercase correct in the bios names?

@edmaul69 yes I had them names exactly named as posted on https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Sega-CD for lr-genesis-plus-gx and pico drive. I did all thee country versions as well.

@Toan the only thing i can recommend is to download a different game from a different location and transfer that with the usb. How long did you let it transfer the bin file? Sftp is really the best way to transfer roms.

Agreed, if you followed everything exactly, there should be no issues. Try re-transferring and try other games.

@edmaul69 @Darksavior alright finally have it working now. transferring USB seems to work the best. Tried Cyberduck for SFTP however I couldn't connect. Honestly I tried all of the right steps it just seems like I tried 3 bad games in a row. Thank you for your help.

@Toan you nee to go i to raspi config and turn on ssh. Then on an ftp program you need to login sftp with user pi and default password unless you changed it is raspberry. If you need to use user root to do more then you need to giver root user a password then sftp as iser root.
