      Hi there,

the D-Pad of the XBox 360 Wireless Controller im using seems to issue a lot of "bad inputs". While navigating the menu i often get switched between platforms/emulators but just wanted to scroll up/down, or vice versa. Also in some games this makes problems.

My guess is that the controllers d-pad issues "diagonal" inputs instead of the meant one, i.e. " left+down" instead of "down" only. Maybe its just to sensitive? But you cant calibrate the d-pad, right?

In the end i need to know how i can configure the menu and some games to use the D-Pad as four-way-input instead of an 8-way input.

I have tried the xboxdrv already with it's "four-way"-option (forgot the name) but the setting was ignored. But even if thats the solution (and i messed up something) i didnt found how i could set that four-way-option only for menu and some games. Some games require 8-way-input ...

      Regards,
      DEWx

@DEWx in Emulationstation you can at least disable system switching from the detailed list view

When included into a xboxdrv launch command correctly, there's really no way it would be ignored. If you want to give it another try, there are a few ways to troubleshoot issues I can help you with. As for using it only in certain scenarios, if you could give some examples, I can tell how or if they'll be possible.

Thanks for your answers! And sorry for my late reply ...

@herb_fargus - Where can i disable that? And how i could get back to the "system"-menu? Probably I didnt get exactly what you mean :-/

@mediamogul - Maybe the issue was, that the controller was set up before using the "default-driver" (not xboxdrv)?
Few days ago I had problems when adding other controllers (PS3- and a Logitech-PC-controller) having weird behavior with unlogic order of the controllers. To keep it easy ... What would I need to do, to (re)install the xbox-controller using xboxdrv (while removing it first, incl. the other driver) and, if possible, make it "4-way" for SNES and the Menu.

            Thanks!

@DEWx In the MAIN MENU on ES under UI SETTINGS change QUICK SYSTEM SELECT to OFF. To get back to the System menu just press the back button, usually B.

If you're talking about the Xpad driver, as long as you include --detach-kernel-driver in the xboxdrv launch command, the two drivers should be able to coexist without issue.
