Win32DiskImager Query
-
Hi all,
Probably not the best place to ask this, but im sure plenty on here use this.
Basically I have got my Pi to a state that I dont want to make any further changes until I can back up.
So, I opened Win32Disk Imager, selected the MicroSD and chose Read and sent it to my desktop.
What the result of it was, was a 'FILE' and not a .img ? Also, it was a 14GB image, so basically all of the SD card, even though only about 2GB is in use?

Hi
If you just rename the file to add .img to the end it should be fine. From memory you need to add the .img to the file name when reading in Win32DiskImager.
As the Win32DiskImager takes an image of the SD card then it will save all of the card whether you are using it all or not.
Cheers
Paul

@mancity try and compress the img file with 7-zip or similar, it will certainly reduce the file size...
