Problem with PSX emulator

Pi Model or other hardware: 3 B+
Power Supply used: 3A 5V phone charger
RetroPie Version Used 4.2
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie

I am new in retropie community and whole console. I have succesfully installed SNES, NES and PSX roms and BIOS files (usa and japan) or I think so because almost all games work but still while starting the game in bottom left corner read NO BIOS DETECTED EXPECT BUGS. Plus bios files are alla written in caps.

But I have problem with psx emulator. All usa psx games work, but while trying to play policenauts (eng patched version), screen goes black and nothing happens. I can quit to file selection screen so console wont freeze. I have tried three different roms, and in every one of them there is same problem. I have seen in youtube videos where people play policenauts via retropie so it can be playable. Any ways to solve this issue?

@Raparperi If it's warning you that no BIOS was found, then the first recommendation would be to add a BIOS file to the BIOS folder. Have you done that?

Most games will work without a BIOS, as the emulator itself has a high level bios included, so the first thing to do is to get rid of that warning and try again.

Yes I have put bios in bios folder. I have transferred all files via USB stick, so in that way I am not sure that bioses have transferred from stick to retropie sdcard?

You'll probably need to use the file manager then. The BIOS is not meant to be placed in the ROM folder, but rather in a separate BIOS folder, as described in the page I linked earlier.

@Raparperi Got it - but, if I understand correctly, you're still getting the "NO BIOS FOUND" error which suggests it's not being copied over. Either that, or it's an incorrect BIOS (though I doubt that).

Use the File Manager in RetroPie, or SSH into the Pi, or the terminal, and confirm whether the file is indeed in the ~/RetroPie/BIOS folder on the SD card. If not, copy it there. :)

And last night when I read many forums I noticed this was very common problem. So in my opinion this should be include somehow to retropie psx wiki?

@Raparperi I think that's a great idea. I believe the wiki is open for editing to anyone, if you want to take a stab at it:)

@Raparperi it's already in the wiki multiple places it's pretty self explanatory though, if it says you don't have a bios then you either have the wrong one or it isn't in the right place, nothing else it could be. We shouldn't have to spell out every minute detail in the wiki:

@herb_fargus I think he is referring to it being common that people expect the ROM transfer to transfer over the BIOS as well, but doesn't?

I always transferred things manually, and load my ROMs from a USB drive so admittedly I don't quite know what the process is and what the expectation may be.

@pjft as far as I understand it I thought that the bios folder synced as well (or should) provided that they actually put it in the bios folder and not the ROM folder, but it's been a while since I've used the USB transfer

@herb_fargus Got it. Yeah, I haven't used it at all - I just assumed that was what @Raparperi was going for, as it has been quite a few threads we've been involved on this topic in the past week or so. :)

Maybe @Raparperi you can tell us exactly what you did before attempting to transfer, and then one can best understand whether there's a potential problem there, or just human error?
