Using a PSP as a physical case for raspberry pi emulator
-
Hi everyone, I'm new. I very recently started looking into using raspberry pi as a handheld emulator. I've seen a lot of videos of people using gameboys as a casing for it, and I realized that I have an old psp that I don't really use anymore. I think it'd be really convenient, given all the buttons and things that are already a part of it. It's got a decent screen size too.
The only problem is, I can't really seem to find any information on people doing this. So, I was wondering if anyone could help me get started on this project and point me in the right direction.
Also, in case I didn't really make it clear (I'm not that great at writing), I was thinking about cracking open my old PlayStation Portable taking out all the hardware (aside from things like the major buttons, maybe the battery, maybe the different ports), replacing it with raspberry pi, and turning my psp into a tiny computer/emulation machine

I doubt there's enough room for everything. By the time the PSP was released, those handheld systems were getting pretty thin. It's not like the original Game Boy, which was like a brick in comparison.
But if you were going to try, It would almost certainly have to be the RPi Zero; the regular models wouldn't fit at all. It might also help if the system were the original 1000 model, as it's slightly thicker than the 2000 and 3000.

@SirDrexl well that sucks, because I have the 2000 model. Do you know how much I could do with RPI zero in terms of emulation power?
-
Well, I don't really know how it will perform because I'm just getting started with all this. The Zero is like the original Pi but somewhat faster, so I suppose you'd want to look into what that was capable of emulating as a baseline.

@SirDrexl Okay, thanks! Will do

Sorry to dig up an old post, but it showed up in my Googling. I've just finished building one in a PSP-1000 case. If you're still interested and need some direction check out my pages.
