@Capeman what emulator do you use for Ninja Baseball Batman? Does it run full speed for you?

I'll vote for Midnight Resistance, as I always had loads of fun with it in spite of being perceived as a cheap Contra knock-off. The soundtrack is great though. Play it on MAME 2010, though, 2003 messes up the audio.

Rodland and Tumble Pop are nice bubble bobble type games, as well as Snow Bros, which is slightly more famous than these two.

It'd be great if you all mention which emulators you use for these games, for reference:)

Runs in mame 2003 just fine, except the menus and spinning map are slow and choppy. If you can get past that, the actual game is quite playable

@pjft Using cabal.zipon lr-fbalpha - World Joystick Version and hitting both buttons makes the roll. Just as I remember it!
EDIT: You have to be pushing left / right on the JS at the same time!

@AlexMurphy I believe there's one version (if not that one, in fact) in FBA where it's mapped to a third button for convenience. :)

@pjft I'll see if I can find it but I like it like the one I played... just a personal preference.

I went back and edited my OP to include the emulator I am using for my suggestions.

                How about:
                Mayhem 2002 (lr-mame2003)
This game is like the movie Rollerball (1975) starring James Caan. It features two-player head-to-head action. like roller derby hockey.

I was under the impression that Moonwalker didn't run well on 2003. I'll definitely try it then!

The one labeled as a bootleg runs on lr-mame2003.

No worries. I always lookup titles in my own copy of the compatibility list which I then mark for including on my arcade. I also use it to generate a gamelist.xml. I figured most of us have some way to search/lookup titles.

                              original game used a trackball

Can confirm the original had a trackball.

@UDb23 How much was the Trackball? Don't mean to be forward but I think it might be well worth the investment.

                                  The End and Cosmic Guerilla.
They are classics but little known.

I played 'em on the real cabs at that time ;-)

It's a Kensington Orbit Trackball Mouse; about 25 USD on Amazon.
Medium sized ball and two buttons.
Bought it for Missile Command... as a third button I use a dedicated key on the keyboard ;-)
Three button Trackball seemed too expensive for that use.

When its about psychodelic Jump & Runs i would like to throw "Pupirula" in the ring.
Never saw something similar as far as Arcade Games are concerned.
Give it a try and reach at least Level two, this is when it becomes very....strange.

note that only the "bootleg" version works (moonwlkb.zip i think). i think all the bootleg does is remove the copy protection, which wasn't fully emulated at the time.

I'm also getting hold of a trackball USB mouse, and will try to set it up on MAME 2003 to see if some of the trackball games work well - Marble Madness and Cabal, for sure. Not su sure about Missile Command, given the need for 3 fire buttons. But one step at a time!
