UAE4ARM Joystick issues
-
Hi guys,
I'm really struggling getting my joysticks to work properly with uae4arm and amiberry, i have a pi3 running the latest software and 2 zero delay usb encoders on my cabinet. The emulator recognises the dragon rise usb controllers however up and down won't work, left, right and buttons work fine. Any help greatly appreciated. Running retropie 4.2 on a pi3b

@thewarroom You probably need to go back and add more detail to your post. Read THIS. Saying you have "the latest" doesn't reveal how it was installed, and in a few months, if someone is searching for an answer to a similar problem, it does not help them.
You might get more responses once you provide the requested details.

@caver01 done, thanks for the info

is there another usb encoder i can use to connect my arcade cabinet so this will work?....dont mind buying new stuff to get this working

@thewarroom Can I assume that you have already searched the forum for Zero Delay and read all of the different questions people have posted (and answered)?
If past questions don't help, you are basically looking for someone with this combination:
Pi3
Running RetroPie 4.2 (but you don't say how it was installed)
Zero Delay or Dragon Rise USB encoders
Trying to use uae4arm and amiberryYou say UP/DOWN won't work. Can you verify if they work in ANYTHING? You see, if UP/DOWN does function elsewhere, you narrow the scope of your troubleshooting to these emulators, and also narrow your possible search for previous questions/answers. On the other hand, if you cannot get UP/DOWN to do anything anywhere, well, you might have a wiring problem, or broken controller, etc.

@caver01 hi, I have searched for a long time and tried many things to sort this issue, the USB encoders work perfectly well with all other emulators, I believe there has been a recent fix on attract mode for this issue. I have updated retropie and amiberry, reinstalled retroarch. From what I've read it seems there's an issue with the dragonrise outputs that's different to standard USB controllers. Sorry for the lack of info as I'm not very clued up with this stuff and to make matters worse I use a Mac and a lot of information around is for windows users
-
@thewarroom I use a mac, so I don't think that makes matters worse. Your challenge is finding someone with the same config as you. For instance, this is the first mention of Attract Mode, not that it matters, but you really need to front-load your first post with as much detail as you can.

Sure thing, I'm not using attract mode for the amiga just thought it may help
