New emulators not showing up despite adding ROMs
-
Hi all,
I added the colecovision & videopac (O2) emulators from the Retropie setup, put a newly formatted USB stick into the Pie and removed it, put it in computer & the new emulator folders were on the ROMs list.
I transferred ROMs into their respective folder, I tried them zipped (rar) & unzipped. Stuck the USB back into the Pie, waited for it to stop blinking , rebooted the Pie and the new emulators do not show up.
I tried this several times with new sticks etc and it still doesn't work.My Colecovision ROMs are older & have the extension .BIN , does that make a difference?
I have a Pie 3 w the latest install & Retropie.
I am very new to the Pie.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you . -
@antnned
I don't think RAR compress is supported by the Colecovision emulator (but I could be wrong)Accepted File Extensions: .bin .col .rom .zip
https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Colecovision/#romsWhat do you see in the
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/coleco/
directory on your Pie? Are there any files there? -
did you check your es_systems.cfg file to make sure the systems show up in your systems list? If you have modified your es_systems.cfg, it probably didn't add them to the list.
you can find the file either here:
/etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
if you have not modified it,
or potentially here:/home/pi/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg

@antnned read up on the docs on this site. You can use the menu to exit emlationststion to the command line. I believe F4 on the keyboard also works.
I prefer to us Ssh. I use putty. For editing Es_systems.cfg I typically is an ftp client like WinSCP.
