      For some reason, I loaded tronky fran or whatever that ES theme is and my whole system went wonky. ES won't boot up fully now. The splash screen and loading screen appears, but it starts flickering rapidly after 20 seconds or so and never boots up. I can't change the theme back cause it won't boot up. What do I do?

        I have also tried this from command line as per elsewhere on this forum.

        If you have to do it from command line you can type:
        sudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_settings.cfg scroll down to theme set change it then press "ctrl + x" then "y" then "enter" then reboot after it saves.

        This did not work for me. Says "command not found"

          @DJfist i think control & o is the way to automatically save if control & x doesnt work.

            I didn't even get that far yet. The command line itself is doing nothing. You'll have to forgive me. I'm a bit of a noob with this stuff.

              Are you on the Pi's command line? That's where you should be running it.

              I believe "nano" comes pretty much pre-installed with most linux distributions these days, so I struggle to see why it'd say "command not found".

              What happens when you just type "nano"?

                @pjft it goes to a different prompt. Says GNU nano 2.2.6 on the top. I assume that is what its supposed to do

                  @DJfist Correct.

                  So, then, type

                  sudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_settings.cfg

                  and it should work.

                    I wasn't spacing it correctly. Not leaving a space after the word "nano." I'm a noob. Thank you very much for assisting me. I really appreciate it. Got back to the default carbon theme.

                      I've also got the same problem. I type it in ctrl+X or ctrl+o, and nothing but a blank read screen with options at the bottom
