So, I'm fairly new to retropie, but I seem to find more problems than answers. I've figured out a lot on my own, but there is something the internets have failed to help me with so far.

First off, I use cheats to goof around some games and just have fun. That being said, I need some serious help.

I downloaded the cheat file, and have updated it (not that it does much good) but a lot of cheats don't do anything but make a game buggy. Mostly talking about PSX games. I've tried a million combinations to enter cheats manually within the menu system, but it never works. my computer is a Mac, and I cannot seem to access the root files to get into the cheat folder to manipulate the cheat.txt files myself. I've turned on SSH and tried repeatedly to connect to the pi as an admin, but it won't let me log in (If anyone has a way, I'd love to know it).

My big gripe is that a lot of cheat files are in German, never work, or are made for totally different devices. Like, if the cheats are GameShark, what is a Game Buster? And does the emulator support any cheat devices codes? If its GameShark only, does it support only the latest version of GameShark codes?

The biggest question, is who curates(ed) the codes? And who can we talk to to get it updated?
