List for Optional and Experimental packages.
-
Is there , or would somebody create a list of the optional packages and there intended use . ( what platform they emulate or media streamer etc.. )
amiberry Amiga
Kodi Media Streamer -
I believe that they're all already listed on the wiki : https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki

not by package unless you actually go into each system to see the packages that are available. On my retropie i would like to emulate almost everything that i can but some of the package titles are not self explanatory and some systems have multiple emulators. When i am adding optional packages on a fresh install i would like a printed list of each package title and what it is for so that i can just go down the list and install only the ones that i want for each system.

@levo_ace when installing packages from Retropie_setup.sh you've got a short line describing every package at the bottom of the screen , what they're emulating, what they're a port of, etc

Thanks for the advice i will check when the amiberry package is installed.

it is there and just visible . now i just need to know the most compatible emulators for each system.

@levo_ace that nobody can provides as it changes on a montlhy basis. You'll have to read the wiki by yourself test and tweak things. Welcome to Retropie. Thought it is common knowledge that lr cores are stable but generally slower than others solutions.

I have been playing with retropie for a while , since the pi2 came out and am now moving to a pi3 . I have enjoyed using retropie so far , except for getting it to run on hdd . I am now trying it with berryboot to see if it is any easier!
Thank you for all your help. -
I had a go at making a list of all the 'optional packages' and which emulator does what. I realise this will update and change regularly, but I hope this still helps someone out there!
