Can't get SNES30 to connect via Bluetooth

I've followed this guide but, I can't get my SNES30 to connect via Bluetooth. I followed the instructions to update the firmware to 4.0. I can use it via Bluetooth in the Retropie Setup Menus but, not in Emulation Station. If I have the controller connected via the USB cable, it's usable in Emulation Station. I'm not sure what the issue is. When I look in "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/" for a cfg file, there's nothing there.

Pretty much at a loss as to what's causing the issue. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Need more info. Did you follow the guide exactly? Did you reboot the pi once finished setting up the bluetooth? Did you configure the controller in ES once it was connected via bluetooth?

I forgot to reboot the pi >_< Everything works now :D

@eisnerguy1 The SNES30 is a little tricky to use when booting up. You need to hold the Start button at the same time you plug in your pi to your power supply or turn on the power switch.

Hi. Pretty sure that isn't true. I have the Nes30 pad which is essentially identical and I've never had to do that. Besides, he said it works now - he'd just forgotten to reboot.

@ruckage - Hello, I am trying to set up a second snes30 controller (first one was flawless). I followed the GitHub guide exactly as written, even went through reboot, however no dice. the blue light still blinks as if it is searching for a bluetooth connection. I will note that in the process of trying to set up this second controller, it says something to the effect of "error - rule already exists". However, it does not register even in the retropie menu.

SNES30 firmware 3.0

@itsnitro nope. Different setups, different issues (or causes). Multiple users with different issues on same thread is confusing.

Plus it's a 2 month old topic.
