Cannot install PIXEL desktop (lightdm) after interrupted installation.
-
Hi guys..
I just wanted to install the PIXEL desktop on my Raspberry Pi 3 with the latest RetroPie version
with the command- sudo apt-get install lightdm
I already did once and it worked, but I reset the whole system, so well...
Anyway, I plugged the Pi into my PC with a normal USB cable...
but at some point, my PC turned into standby mode and the power wasn't there anymore, so the pi turned off & the installation was uncompleted.
After I turned it on and tried to type in the same command again, it said I had to fix some things somehow.. so I did, but i couldn't start the desktop anyway.So after that I tried all kinds of uninstallation, reinstall or purging and when I want to install it again with the command above, it seemed to work just fine, but - it only downloads something about 20.1
MB's...
when I type in "startx" it says "-bash: command not found"There also isn't a boot option under ports in emulationstation...
I'm literally despairing here and I also don't want to reinstall my RetroPie image again, so I would very appreciate it if you could help me out..
Thank you in advance!

@linuxjoker did you try installing through the setup script as detailed in the documentation?
-
@herb_fargus no, I don't think so.
Looked around at the drivers and packages at the RetroPie script now, but can't find anything that says something about lightdm, or even a desktop..
so what should I do now? ๐ -

well it worked now. Installed it manually over the terminal with the RetroPie script specific options. Thanks for the clue @herb_fargus ๐
