      I wrote that I have Retropie 4.2 and Kodi 17.1. RaspberryPi 3 model B

Where did you post the model of the Pi in your first post? it matters - you need 2.5A to power it with peripherals - you still have not provided the information to rule out power supply issues.

@rbaker You don't understand) I wrote that I have Retropie 4.2 and Kodi 17.1. next goes new sentence.
I have 2.5A adapter. Keyboard don't work only in Kodi. It works in emulationstation good.

@grungestranger USB keyboards and mouse, I think I never saw ones that don't work, and pretty much all gamepads work now out of the box, unless probably if they are really exotic or crap ones, which doesn't seem to be your case.
The latest Kodi available is 17.3. So please do has I said and update it. Also post all the rest of hardware that you have connected to the Pi and how. And if it still doesn't work, post the logs, otherwise we can only guess whats wrong with you setup.

You are right, I don't understand. Where in the above line and in your first post do you state the Raspberry Pi model that you are using? You are aware that Retropie is software and that the Raspberry Pi hardware comes in a variety of versions? that require a variety of power supply requirements for optimal performance?

I have 2.5A adapter. Keyboard don't work only in Kodi. It works in emulationstation good.

Hi. I have updated kodi from retropi-setup script. Version 17.3 (it was before too).
I use all the same device.
                  Input in Kodi doesn't work.
If push Ctr + C on keyboard, then show black window.
                  It is log - /opt/retropie/configs/ports/kodi/temp/kodi.log - https://pastebin.com/1jYpkefu

@grungestranger Start the Raspberry Pi without anything connected to the Pi, just the keyboard (remove the gamepad, usb hubs, usb storage devices, etc). Then start Kodi, connect the gamepad and follow this to configure it:

Just do like I said, it is probably a conflict between your gamepad and your keyboard. There is a chance that your gamepad isn't supported in Kodi, but I really doubt the keyboard isn't. What is the keyboard model ? It can also be a power supply issue, so please try with another one also if it still doesn't work.

The keyboard works fine in system terminal of Raspberry Pi and in EmulationStation and in RetroArch... So it cann't be a power supply issue. My gamepads are bluetooth. When i'm starting system they are not connect . I connect only keyboard. Model of keyboard is Labtec Y-BM62.

Could it be that Kodi use Retroarch or emulationstation input configs?

No, uses its own configuration which is independant of the software you mentioned. Can you try another keyboard to confirm it is not your setup problem?

Unfortunately, I have no other usb keyboard.

Ok, i will show the situation.
I start RaspberryPi with connected keyboard.
Autostarts EmulationStation. I press F4 to quit.
I starts Kodi from terminal. (simple - command - kodi)
It starts. Buttons of keyboard don't work.
                                If I press Ctr + C - shows a black screen.
No terminal. All freeze. I cant use terminal.

                                It is normal?

                                And one more thing.
When I install or reinstall kodi from retropie-setup.sh - shows some problems.
It is part of install log - https://pastebin.com/ZpmGi1u9

No, of course it is not normal.
From the log the package policykit-1 isn't installed already and it might be needed for the keyboard to work.

@buzz You can remove the bintray repo, the same Kodi version is now available in Raspbian Foundation repo.

@rascas ok thanks. Is it likely that they will keep the main repo updated it in a timely manner do you think ? Just wondering if it's worth keeping it around just in case for the future ?
