I made some progress and figured I would share some updates in the event that anyone runs into this issue. I found a Youtube tutorial to utilize Xroar for Coco Emulation on the PC. I had no installed the disk11.rom or the extbas11.rom. Based on the Retropie doc file, only the bas13.rom is mentioned so it might be worth a minor update.

Here is the Youtube video for reference if anyone would like.

I also ran into some issues with everything being in black and white but with some searching Ctrl-A resolved the issue.

Hopefully this helps someone down the road if they run into this.

@dmmarti It was simpler than that - I'm a dumdum and I had so many folders with CoCo BIOS files in them from when I was trying to get it work that I'd added the Extended Basic ROMs to every folder except the right one :D

@Halvhjearne it needs a window in order to configure the mappings.

@Sebiohazard Can you give me an example - a game that doesn't work ? The info might not be on the scraping site for that particular game.

@K9Kraken said in GPI Case XRoar emulator crashes. (Solved):

-Way to exit emulator without having to reboot the system.

I wonder if this is because of --disable-kbd-translate. Do you have a game to compare how slow the new version (compared to the previous one) runs ?

In this case, I don't know why it's not working. It's possible that I've added something else besides the step I enumerated in my previous post, but I don't think so.

This helped and I believe solved the problem once I tweaked my config options. Thanks so much.

@steve-bamford Not a problem. xroar is a "niche" emulator at best. We gotta stick together. Enjoy. Get yourself a full game ROM set and go crazy!

@stoogesfan87 here are some steps to get the job done:

Copy the PNG to a directory accessible to the pi user (like ~/RetroPie/ROMs/coco/media/images/ From ES, highlight the folder that you wish to display the image Hit your "Select" button Select "Edit this game's metadata" Select "Image" Type the path where the image is Restart EmulationStation

For number 6, I can't remember if you can use relative paths or even the tilde (~) so probably best to use the full path. So for step 1 above, the path would be:

      /home/pi/RetroPie/ROMs/coco/media/images/<your_image>.png
