      @mitu
      Thank you! that was the problem The SD card was full like 100% full!. I free-ed up some space and my favourites etc, are being saved. I tested restarting emulation station and re-booting the Pie. All working fine now.

      I feel like a fool! Thank you for your help.

      Not a complaint, but a request: it might be nice to get a big fat warning if settings cannot be saved due to no SD card space. But from now on I will make sure to leave some space on the SD card.

      Then the exit shortcut would be Tab + Key1.

      @Mark_H Yes, that's the recommended method. Some buttons have a script attached which safely shut down the system, including EmulationStation - so if your button doesn't have that, the best option is to use the EmulationStation menu to shutdown or restart your system.

      Hi Markyh444

      I realised last night the error of my way.

      Favorites menu is only shown when you have games set as favorites (Y Button) and you then have to restart emulation station.

      Thank you for your help though!

      My most favorite is Final Fantasy. I used to really like Minecraft (that I downloaded free from apknite), but my bias has turned to FF for a while

      @jamrom2 Same with me in only having friends with a 2600. My own console was a Tchibo Tele-Fever, a rebranded Emerson Arcadia 2001. There was only one electronics shop in my whole city (population about 3 million!) that had games for this system after it was discontinued by the coffee roaster chain Tchibo after only some weeks or months. But that fact made the trips to buy a new game kind of a holy pilgrimage. 😆 And it made me actually read their manuals completely on my way home.

      Yes, Activision made some of the best games of that era. One of my favourites was H.E.R.O. on the C64 which I played through until its "end" when you reached the maximum points the game could display (999,999?) and the score would turn to "!!!!!!" or something similar, I don't remember clearly after all those years. You could then send a photo of the screen to the publisher and get some goodies for it, but I never did that to my deepest regret up until this day. (I actually took the photo but never sent it in.)

      edit: And I just learned that it only had 20 levels. I never noticed that! 😲 🤪

      I played Syndicate for a long time on my Amiga, it was one of my absolute favourites back then.

      Espgaluda - I'm currently taking a brave step into the world of bullet hell. Love this one. Street Fighter 3 Alpha - I got my son into Street Fighter and we enjoy learning new moves together. Amazing 2d artwork in these. Wipeout + Wip3out - Wipeout pushed the world of gaming into mainstream acceptance. Looks cool has great 90s club music and brilliant visual design. (I'm partial as I used to work with one of the designers) And of course it's got great gameplay. Sonic - Favorite game of my yuf. Golden Axe - Used to play this with my brother and we still do now and then.
      (Also I'm playing through Super Metroid right now for the first time, I love the music and the different areas.)

      @capeman I didn't realize it incorporated light gun. That makes more sense.
