@roslof, Don't know if you're still having problems with lr-scummvm but perhaps telling you about my experience will help.
I was succesfully using lr-scummvm on a RPi 4B RetroPie build that used RetroArch version 1.8.8. I recently set up a second Pi 4B with a completely fresh RetroPie install using the latest RetroPie image available. The RetroArch version here was 1.9.x (I forget exactly which) but I found that lr-scummvm would crash when I loaded up any game in just the way you described in your original post.
My thought was that, although it was probably ultimately a fault with the experimental nature of the lr-scummvm core, the crux of the problem was that the lr-scummvm core was not compatible with RetroArch v1.9.x as it seemed to be with 1.8.8.
So, without wanting to completely reinstall my whole system, I installed the older RetroArch v1.8.8, overwriting the one that came bundled with the image. I didn't need to change anything else and, happily, I was able to get my favourite LucasArts games up and running straight away.
Now, obviously, downgrading Retroarch can be a bit risky so if you want to try it you do so at your own risk. Unfortunately I can't tell you how to do from the command line as I couldn't find that out. But I managed it by backing up the ~/RetroPie-Setup folder (by adding ".bak" to the end of the folder name) and then copying the folder from my older system to the new one. Then I ran the retropie_setup.sh script that I just copied and went to Manage Packages | Manage Core Packages | Retroarch | Install From Source. 10 minutes later, RA 1.8.8 was on my system and lr-scummvm worked beautifully.
Hello , i have more problems GTA games , Vice City , Burnout dominator and some other i think the most recent PSP games boots fine and menus are ok.
But in the game the graphics are broken and unplayable. Cars and people falling trough the road and grass etc.
Same roms / dvd content are fine on ppsspp win10 desktop machine.
Tried vulkan on the PI4 but more and the same problems, also tried booting retropie standalone image and on twister os same result.
PI4 / 8GB
32 bit or 64bit kernal on twister os same problem.
ppsspp without retropie same problem.
Al on the latest updates of may 2021
Ah ok, is there anyway I can reinstall the version that comes with 4.7 to see if it makes a difference?
Since PPSSPP isn't installed on the 4.7 image by default, even if you download the 4.7 image, installing from binary will still get you the current/last version. So, no - you can't reinstall the old version from RetroPie-Setup.
Ah, I never realised that. Sounds like I’m out of luck then.
@azurden it’s trivial to acquire mame roms of a certain version, but we can’t assist as per the rules. do not try and find roms and then determine their version after the fact - hundreds of mame rom versions so it will almost certainly be wrong. find the version you need.
I remember seeing a fix for 1. in RetroArch's repository, but don't remember seeing 2. There's a similar issue for 2., that was fixed after 1.8.9, but it looks like it happens with the new graphical widgets.
That's hilarious. I just removed the xboxdrv driver as well as the xpad driver. Both pads working, recognized as XBox 360 controllers. Configured in the menu. Back to the issue where the 8BitDo controller works great, and everything but the D-Pad seems to work on the generic SNES controller.
well, i though wrong it is still crashing for me. i ve tried batocera, retropie on raspberry pi and on pc via linux.. nothing, but it seems i m getting less frequent hung-systems, since it triggers now 1 out of 20 achievements i get at random. i ve tried all i could, i ve not found the solution. more is at the github page https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/10797
@fluffypillow Thanks man, and sorry again for the "double-posting", I'll answer you here
I did the workaround you told (put 'providers.gog.enabled: false" in settings.txt) and worked! Nice :D
