Ah. Thank you for your responses. I was just trying to arrange all of the Megaman games I added and sort them by release date. Another I was going to do was just grab a list of top 10 games for each system and make a collection and attempt to put them all in order.
I guess it can wait though! It’s more of an OCD type thing for me lol
@meleu Is it still massively expensive to import foreign electronics to Brasil? I have read and watched documentaries about the taxes that were placed on foreign imports. I'm sure that has opened up but there will always be a legacy of that policy.
I think it's not as much as it was in the 80s-90s. But it still has some taxes. Not sure how it worked before but now the taxes are applied by sampling. Then it can be a matter of luck. :-)
I bought some gadgets from other countries and it wasn't that expensive (some of them weren't taxed), such as: 8bitdo NES30, SNES30, Zero, GPD XD...
There is no gamelist.xml in the Roms/System folder nor in the configs/all....
All are in the /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/system/ folders. Some previous scrapes/xml files from my sega master system are in there. The weird thing is even, when I edit those now the change are not reflected in emulationsstation/gamelist.db. It is as if when scraping/importing xml manually it looks for it somewhere else.
And yes I alsways shutdown emulationstation when changing :)
seems that it was that at some point I did a find and replace on the .zip files to match my .7z roms, then I guess when I went back in to edit I did a find and replace on the .bin files and changed them also to .7z.... I guess that was confusing it. Thanks for the help simonster, thats a nice command I didn't know. I've got it working again.
@dankcushions Right, I don't think anyone is doing that, and that certainly wasn't the topic in this thread. I guess you'll say it's not your job to explain, but how is accepting donations for the image which packages non-commercial items different than selling a project made from that same image? It seems to me that Buzz is really upset that their work is being monotized, but saying it's because of the non-commercial emulators. Hence, having your cake and eating it too.
We accept donations for our work on RetroPie-Setup etc - nothing to do with selling other peoples software. We don't sell anything.
I am not happy about people breaking licences, and associating RetroPie with piracy which is happening all the time. I don't have to help anyone sell RetroPie "legally". Why should I ?
This would be SUPER helpful when you've downloaded an entire romset for a certain console (or certain version of mame). Simply ANYTHING that would move ROMs you've chosen to the top of the list (instead of having to scroll through like 3,000+ ROMs, or hit select, then select a letter, then still have to hit L or R bumper to page up/down through like 100+ ROMs to find the ONE SINGLE GAME you want to play!)
How can I have it set up to where the game details are assigned to the folder
While in Emulation Station, highlight a folder, press 'select' and choose the option to set metadata. At the bottom left of the resulting window you'll see the option to scrape information. Once completed, the folder will have whatever game data was chosen during this process.
