Delete all *.hi and *.nv-files in the ~/hi and ~/nvram folders of your mame4all-directory.
If you meant the default scores which are given by the developers of the arcade-machines: you cannot reset them, they are hardcoded.

@spider910 https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first - we don't support 3rd party images. Try installing the image from retropie.org.uk/download and see if you get the same problems.

Before this we mostly played rod hockey and I had a rank/scoresheet I made in Excel which we kept posted to keep track of who was the best each month.

I was under the same impression, but it seems to work now. I'm using the latest lr-mame2003, compiled from source, and tappera.zip as the ROM.
In the past I believe the controls didn't work, but now they seem to work. Maybe it is related to some of the changes from December?

it's good for me understand if i add ADV-MAME 1.4: if i put hi-score.dat in /roms/mame-advmame/hi it will works in retropie?

i tried to put hiscore.dat in to hsb dir... too..
how you can see today is 15 January... files are at 12 January 2017 if i try to load a title... mame not loads hiscore... and not save it
