      @stsweeney41 said in Where to put the mame2003 samples files:

      This did not work for me. If it is just my install, then I am fine, but may want to mention the other location in the docs, since it is what is mentioned in the info file I mentioned above, and it does work in my case.

      The 'other' location from the .info file refers to the BIOS files, not the samples. Same info from our docs is found also in the official core documentation. Note that RetroPie configures the 'system folder' to /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/.

      If you have reset your RetroArch configuration - using the Reset menu in RetroArch - then the 'system folder' is empty and defaults to the ROM folder, which might be your case.

      @crimson0087 https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Add-a-New-System-in-EmulationStation/:

      "each system in EmulationStation is defined in the file es_systems.cfg. The default version resides in the /etc/emulationstation folder. It is recommended that you make a copy of this file into the /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation folder."

      @mitu solved my problem. In RA there's an option for the directory in which the replays are stored/saved. During game play (while recording), however, the audio and graphics go to hell and back. During replay it's fine, but does anyone have a way to prevent the distortion while recording?

      Yes, I believe I did the same thing with the configs text, sorry I’m pretty new to all this. Just trying to shed some light on something I was reading about the last few days.

      edited /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus.cfg
      Like this:
      #Path to directory where emulator save states (snapshots) are saved. If this is blank, the default #value of ${UserConfigPath}/save will be used
      SaveStatePath = "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/n64"
      #Path to directory where SRAM/EEPROM data (in-game saves) are stored. If this is blank, the default #value of ${UserConfigPath}/save will be used
      SaveSRAMPath = "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/n64"

      You want to rename the roms to remove region, or remove the roms that are not of your region ?
      The first is basically not possible, because you can't have 2 files with the same name in the same directory :) You may batch rename them if you want, but can't simply remove the region.
      The second options is also feasible, but we would need more informations.

      Anyway, @BobHarris suggestion or scapping is the best way IMHO.

      @lostless said in Where is the virtual PSX memory card located?:

      The srms are the memory cards. Pcsx makes a new memory card for each game.

      Thank you for clearing that up!

      @jepperi well, this is going to be tough because you don't describe exactly where you installed your roms in the first place, nor how you are using what you call a "raspberry stick". It sounds like you were trying to use USB ROM service, maybe. You need to start over and really describe your setup (see the link at the top of these pages) and explain exactly what you did (with directory paths etc.)

      Also, please do some research with the Docs link above. The arcade section shows you all of the directories where emulation station is looking for roms for each emulator. The answers are right there. I shouldn't have to even write this.
