There are a few - glaring - errors in your configurations:
there is no /opt/openarena folder in a RetroPie installation, so your emulators.cfg files are wrong. You copied that from your previous installation, it's not compatible to the RetroPie installation, no wonder they don't work.
Reicast doesn't support Naomi/Atomiswave ROMs and there is no lr-reicast in RetroPie (it's the former name for lr-flycast).
If you have created custom folder for Naomi/Atomiswave ROMs, then you should install lr-flycast and then copy the emulators.cfg, from the dreamcast system to your new system configuration. Make sure you have a corresponding retroarch.cfg in each config folder, containing
Gotcha. That's essentially what I did, since I have my ROMs on a USB drive, I just copied those cfg files. I didnt realize the dingus that had created that previous installation changed the directory structure (yet another plus to abandoning it).
Well I'm on the right path now (get it?) to fix it. Thanks for the help, yet again.
I actually do already have the Dreamcast version loaded in my Pi , I just wanted to try the Naomi version due to I have never played the arcade version and sometimes there are little things here and there they may have changed or become different
Just something about the Arcade version games I enjoy better , possibly because the infinite amount of credits by coins possible , or the service menus to change the lives , difficulty and such .. I don't know for sure ... Call me weird I guess
I do enjoy your input and advice , Thank you for that
Maby this version on Flycast is a bit wonky and needs more configuration within the core itself by the developers
# Settings made here will only override settings in the global retroarch.cfg if placed above the #include line
input_remapping_directory = "/opt/retropie/configs/naomi/"

In the future, for large log files please use pastebin.com (or a similar site) to post it.
Now go into EmulationStation, or SSH into your box (sudo /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh)
Go into Options>RPSETUP
Manage packages>Manage main packages>lr-pcsx-rearmed>Remove
Then do an update from source.
Now when you launch PS1 games, go into Quick Menu, then in Options select Pad 1 Type = guncon
When that has finished then you load lr-pcsx-rearmed as your emulator as usual. Then on the menu under options you can change Pad 1 Type to "guncon".
Tested on Elemental Gearbolt, Time Crisis I and II and it works well. However, some games are not working, Die Hard/Die Hard 2, Lethal Enforcers I and II.
got into Retroarch Quick Menu
Change Port 1 binds device type to "Zapper"
Map Wiimote buttons same as on Dreamcast example
In Quick Menu, enable "lightgun settings"
then go to Options and change Zapper Mode to "Touchscreen"
save configs and restart
For SNES, similar to NES, but when launching a game, when the splashscreen for NES comes up, press the button on your controller to bring up the launch menu
Change the emulator for the rom to "lr-SNES9x"
When Retroarch loads, go to main menu inputs
Go to Port 2 Binds
Map trigger, alt fire like before
In Quick Menu, check lightgun mode "touchscreen"
Master System, same as NES
Port 1 - MS Light Phasrer
In Quick menu turn on show cross hair
save game mappings
Set port 2 binds to "MD Menacer"
Same settings elsewhere (i.e. touchscreen)
@mitu I did a lot of reading around in those docs, but since I didn't require a user/pass for access I didn't know how much of that I should cut out of the line so I browsed forums until I found an example of someone doing what I was trying to.
Duly noted, though. Just another thing added to all the stuff I've learned about this stuff in the last couple months. After fixing that, Daphne works as well for me. I knew it was going to be some little minute detail. Thanks again, you're a lifesaver.
my system is a Raspberry Pi 4 with RetroPie 4.6.
I use the "lr-flycast" emulator to run Naomi Roms.
I haven't had any control problems in any naomi game so far. Only in "18 Wheeler: Amercian Pro Trucker (Deluxe, REV A)"can I not steer the vehicle left or right with my joystick. Before that in the game menu, for example when selecting the vehicles, I can very well turn left or right Select vehicles. The game dispays all the time
The error message "MOTOR NETWORK ERR IN 01 OUT ff" is displayed repeatedly in the game.
How can I configure the game so that I can control the truck?
You need to get the romset 18wheelu.zip and run that . Controls are perfect and you dont get the motor network error
As far as I know, you should be using the latest MAME ROMset for Naomi games - what format are your Naomi games ?
Also, a log file (with debug logging) might give an indication of why the games are not loading.
