      @vaccinemedia said in Pi boots to a blinking cursor when booting:

      the latest installer breaks this and so I have fixed ... but you could say that this is a genuine bug which needs fixing as this was not an issue at the end of 2024

      Nothing has been changed to the install/setup part in RetroPie recently and there's no 'bug' here - auto-starting EmulationStation on boot has always been a manual step when doing a manual install.

      @well_marques Don't necro-post, open a separate topic and explain your issue, providing the info asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

      @androidonpi The errors appears because you're running RetroPie from the desktop environment. As @dankcushions mentioned, this is not a supported configuration. On the Pi4, drastic will run by starting an X server first (as a few other ports already do), if you're already running in a desktop environment, that won't work.

      @helloThere I use win32diskimager on my PC and it works very well. The interface is fairly intuitive too. Hopefully it works for you.

      The Pi4 is not supported by RetroPie yet - either with the image(s) provided on the download page or through the manual installation (over Raspbian).

      @Nextus
      Make sure you've purchased the NESPi Case +, the latest revision from RetroFlag.
      There were issues reported with the previous case and the higher power requirements of the Pi 3+.

      @angry_bucket
      I don't think that's correct, but curious to know more about your experience.

      RetoFlag's safe shut-down script advises to set this to On before installing the scripts. I followed this and everything works fine (as long as EmulationStation is running).

      [Edit] I purchased one of these a month ago - love it.
