After much searching, I found this link https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show/issues/278 for an issue with an LCD display I tried to use years ago. Apparently, it updated my /boot/cmdline.txt file to put ttyAMA0 in my console, instead of the default serial0. Swapping it back to console=serial0,115200 and rebooting, and now bluetooth works again!

but if your heart is set on N64, PS2, PSP or Nintendo DS/3DS titles; the ODroid can handle that much better; while still running RetroPie through Ubuntu or via The Retro Arena distros.

Which Odroid model do you refer to here? (or maybe a better question: which odroid model handels these kind of games best?)

Easier means for the right purpose. So to let a LED blink the approach is much easier to achive with bash or python. For a learning experiment C is also a good choice. But the whole scenario... A Raspberry Pie to let a LED blink is wrong. A microcontroller (of any kind) would be the correct way ... maybe in a C-style language, maybe by direct adressing. But this is only my opinion.

That is unfortunate, maybe there is something on warranty, I think the Pi's have been successful they may be agreeable if you tell them. 5V 2A isn't far out of the level guidelines if this is what caused it, while it says nowhere to use a phonecharger, there are HP chargers and others replacements that are often used.
