@spykypie do you mean .7z? if so, you need to extract with a zip program (eg http://www.7-zip.org/download.html) - the files within hopefully are compatible types :)

@epd probably. I am on a 15" screen and it is a noticeable change. Try fear effect. When in a game the character is really noticeable because the background is crap so the charater looks good compared to it when you turn on the enhaced mode.

@Capeman save states can be dangerous if there is a in game save. I've had it where the game thought I was using a different memory card and could no longer save to the main game because the memory card from the save state did not match the real one.
They are great if you're just trying to pass a part, but not as a save to come back to.

@herb_fargus Got it. Yeah, I haven't used it at all - I just assumed that was what @Raparperi was going for, as it has been quite a few threads we've been involved on this topic in the past week or so. :)

Maybe @Raparperi you can tell us exactly what you did before attempting to transfer, and then one can best understand whether there's a potential problem there, or just human error?

      Cheers.

Is there an easy way to implement the Beetle HW release to Retropie?

@milok Useful for me, my gf deleted the retroarch.cfg and the one it autogenerates apparently is completely different from the default one? A lot of stuff is changed, including the entire psx interface for retroarch, and bios location.

Hi all. Just adding to this thread to mention that I was also having an issue where, when attempting to manually append a disc in Retroarch, no ROMs were appearing in my PSX ROMs folder. The above solution worked for me. This is the step-by-step for the technologically challenged (like me):

Using your computer, navigate to the "configs" folder in your RetroPie drive Go to the folder of the emulator for which your having an issue (in my case, "psx") Edit the retroarch.cfg file by right clicking it and choosing to open it in some kind of text editing program Add this line to that text file, substituting the 'psx' part for the relevant system in your case:

      rgui_browser_directory = "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx"

Save the file Restart your Rasberry Pi

When you go to append a disc, you should now see all of your ROM files.

I had the pi 2 set to one of the default overclock choices that you could pick in the raspi config tool, i didn't do anything custom.

      Also, https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/playstation-1
You missed searching the official guides. Do that next time instead of random youtubers that will get stuff wrong or leave stuff out. Though, something that's missing in the wiki.. "scph7502.bin" (not in caps either) works just fine too.

@edmaul69 great, please do and let me know how it goes!

This should remove all dithering effects that the emulator explicitly added - but obviously keeping any that the games had originally.

@TMNTturtlguy Not a problem, it should be good to the best of my testing abilities. I did not make a lot of changes as well, so its impact should be fairly self-contained. As such, I don't see how it would have affected the saving.

There's an option to have game-specific core options saved, maybe you had some of those set? I don't see why that would be the case, but it is a possibility. If you do have created a game core for some of your games, then yes, the is the case. If you don't, then saving the option will affect all the games (as all read from the default options).

Cheers! Thanks for helping narrow down the cause for this!

@RDaugherty get the id of another button from the config, and put that in the per rom config - eg input_enable_hotkey_btn = "9", so now another button will be hotkey, and select will work. The reason why select isn't working is because it's used for triggering retroarch hotkeys.

@Allanbuzzy In the retroarch menu Go Main Menu > Online Updater > Update assets. It will download and extract a zip. When finished go to Settings > User Interface > Menu > Menu Icon Theme and choose what set you want to use, There are a few. You can also change a few other settings in there like colour etc
