@mitu said in Sega CD Game Not Loading - Annett Futatabi:

What's the actual name of the file you're launching (.cue, .chd) ? I think some characters from it might trigger this error in runcommand.

      Annett Futatabi (Japan).chd
      Annett Futatabi (Japan).cue

I just renamed the file to "Test.chd" and guess what, it boots! Thanks for the help.

@clyde ah, I hadn't considered converting them directly in the cache. That would save the trouble (and the bandwidth) of downloading them again just to do the same conversion anyway.

@johnodon - THAT DID IT!!! Omg dude thank you! I've been loosing my mind with this. So it ends up there are two resolutions this thing picks up. It defaults to 1366x768 that has two refresh rates 60Hz and 40Hz. The next one is 1360x768 and runs at 60 - 59Hz. Switched it to that and magically it just worked. Cant believe it was something that simple. Canτ thank you enough!

Been there. :D More often than not, 4K TVs are the culprit.

Is there any way to get the setting in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg to actually apply to all lr- emulators?

They should apply to all lr- emulators. Unless you've used 'Save Configuration' for one of them, in which case they won't, since that would break the inclusion of said .cfg file - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#config-hierarchy.

@saku00 Sadly, I don't think it is. The only emulator I know of that even supports the DS-i is melonDS, which even then is still a WIP and not available on RetroPie at the moment.

      Solved?

The problem was that the pi4 has 2 "connected" outputs (given by xrandrs output), this means that the MODE_CUR array is increased by one (HDMI-1 HDMI-2), and MODE_CUR[5] becomes aspect ratio instead of being the refresh rate, my solution basically looks for /primary/ instead of /connected/... but no clue if that will mess things up for others.

Other than patching files under RetroPie-Setup, is there some way to achieve this that I didn't realize?

No, you need to patch the scriptmodule to have both vulkan and KMS support.

@sirhenrythe5th I'm not an expert so I'm not sure. I would assume that would also require a better gpu as well. I mainly use the Pegasus front-end and that got a boost in speed when I switched from a pi3b+ to a pi4.

The documentation page needs to be rephrased - while some emulators only have a 32/64 bit version, RetroPie works on both x86 and x86_64.
