That is another option, but runcommand wouldn't know what commands to run for them without adding a separate scriptmodule. Using a .sh script is simpler and supported.

@stefano-sudati Re-install should be fine.

it generates a gamelist at /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/retropie/gamelist.xml that contains the descriptions.
