@furtin As long as you use Emulators beginning with „lr“ (for libretro), you can use the hotkeys from RetroArch for loading, saving, and choosing the save slot. See https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#hotkeys

If you're playing European(Pal) on easy and not for zero retries, zero kills, zero time caught. Save file is right after sniper wolf.
You can use Memcardrex to check if there is anything in the srm, that is in the link too, but there probably isn't anything there.
Emulator closing would sometimes happen when I didn't have enough gpu memory, but I can't say for certain if it would help, the Gpu memory split option is entered from raspi-config advanced settings.

Will setting mupen64plus_audio=0 in /opt/retropie/configs/all/autoconf.cfg have any negative impact on emulator performance? I noticed that after changing this setting, the overall volume for N64 games decreased as well (bringing it back in line with the other RetroPie emulators). Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a performance trade off for enable save states. Thanks for the help!

I had the same problem with Megadrive too. I think what screwed everything is the saving on exit...

I could not fix it no matter what I tried, so I started doing a fresh install.

      It is so frustrating....

Although I like to "earn my spurs" sometimes, I think that anyone should play their games like they want. For the vast majority of people, games are for having fun, after all.

So, if someone wants to play all unlockable content from the start, I'll gladly let them. RetroArch officially supports cheats, after all.

Another situation in which unlocked saves and cheats are very handy are gaming parties where people just want to have fun. Even hardcore gamers do that from time to time.

@kikinaak https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand/#runcommand-launch-menu - press any buttons during the ROM start and choose to run with verbose logging, repeat the steps to reproduce the problem, then look in the log file (/dev/shm/runcommand.log).

      @psychol324 Hello

Choose all ... this uses config /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg - you did that already.

The parameter for the save pathes can made dynamical if you use $1
So /home/pi/RetroPie/savegames/$1 for a GameBoy game will be /home/pi/RetroPie/savegames/gb
/home/pi/RetroPie/savegames/$1 for a NES games will be /home/pi/RetroPie/savegames/nes....

In my humple opinion /home/pi/RetroPie/scripts/SavePath.sh "all" "/home/pi/savegames/$1" is the best setup

It saves STATEs and SRM files into one location in depence of the system (gb, nes, snes) and used the config file for all base settings.

Instruction point 5 can be understand following. Usually the setting for savefile_directoryand savestate_directory are commented out with a #.
So you have to set them "active" by uncommenting them.

So if you already have setted them up like savefile_directory = "/home/pi/RetroPie/savefile" you are fine.
So the script will always overwrite this: like savefile_directory = "/home/pi/RetroPie/savegames/gb"
Hope I was clear now ;)

@sjlurker2018 No you type commands into the terminal or command line interface (CLI)

      You can enter a terminal

Exit EmulationStation via Main Menu > Quit > Quit EmulationStation
1.1 You see now the command prompt
1.2 Enter commands via keyboard via SSH and a second PC
2.1 you enter also a terminal but this is remote
2.2 you need a second PC/Tablet.... for this

Follow the instructions I've posted you. Then we can help you further.

I would say that with today's technology yes, though it would be near impossible to do so without connecting the game cartridge to the computer :). So unless you have some sort of GBA-2-USB adapter, I would say no.

@lostless said in Where is the virtual PSX memory card located?:

The srms are the memory cards. Pcsx makes a new memory card for each game.

Thank you for clearing that up!

@BuZz can you recommend a browser? I tried this in google chrome and internet explorer and they both give they same results, they only hold the first group of threads in their memory. I think a work around would be to scroll through each grouping and do a print of that, Looks to be about 10-12 posts per grouping. Thanks
