Please don't double post - I deleted the previous post.
As to your problem - the Bluetooth pairing configuration is mainly geared towards input devices (i.e. gamepads) so it might not work 100% with other device types. You can still pair it using the bluetoothctl command line utility (see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/bluetooth, the Pairing section).

Seems like you mis-configured your bluetooth service and it's not starting anymore. My advice is to remove the override.conf you've added for the systemd service and try again to start it. If it doesn't work, maybe start over with a new image ?

I just bought some cheap PC speakers off ebay and then dismantled them from the case. They work well in my bartop.

I went a slightly different route with mine. I went for a thin build: INITIAL IDEA= firstidea.png and HALF DONE= halfdone.jpg.

@mitu What I mean't was instead of using a connected monitor, use Wifi/bluetooth android phone screen inorder to play retropie without wires.

Okay, I'll go through and check all my wiring and soldering. Hopefully it's just that. I've tried with 2 different speakers now, so I don't think it's that. I'll try different wires maybe. I've posted on the SudoMod forum too, so I'll hopefully get a response there too.
Yeah, It's pretty fun, and frustrating XD I've never done much with hardware before so it's a challenge! Once It's all done I'll probably make a post about it, and I'll link it here :)

@applePie unlikely as it would mean having to build things to use pulseaudio, which is not desirable for most users.

Perhaps it could be optional for retroarch, although I have not tried pulseaudio with bluetooth - if you are having trouble on the desktop, it's likely something we can't fix (related to bluetooth stack etc). RetroPie is just a system to install/configure emulators, we don't interfere much with the basic OS.

@MadRikXIV if you remove the mic chip and capacitor on the original board you could rewire that volume slider on the board to be used
